Hayden Wallace, Managing Director

Hayden Wallace is the founding director and a major shareholder of Safe Direction (Est 2012). Hayden is a respected leading figure in the road safety barrier industry with over 20 years’ experience with leading multi-site product manufacturing and distribution facilities serving the national road safety barrier market.

Hayden is the inventor of numerous international patents for road and vehicle safety barrier systems including but not limited to Safe Direction’s RAMSHIELD® guardrail barrier, the RHINO-STOP® family of car park and warehouse safety barriers and Ingal Civil Products Ezy-Guard system. Moreover Hayden is responsible for advancing best practice for safety barrier systems through active participation in the Australian and New Zealand Standard for Road Safety Barriers as well as being responsible for championing the advancement of numerous public domain road safety barrier systems to the Australian market such as crash tested guardrail end terminals, solid blockouts and motorcycle rubrail.

Hayden has lead the design and construction of several manufacturing plants for production of road safety barriers as well as a galvanising facility thereby providing the experience to establish Safe Direction at the forefront of control systems for the production of leading quality products.

The rapid growth in Safe Direction is based on the mission set by Hayden to deliver to customers’ unparalleled technical support, innovative unique product solutions and speed in order fulfilment.

Hayden has a Master’s of Business Administration from The University of Technology Sydney and Bachelor of Engineering from The University of Sydney.

Terry Colquhoun, Business Development Director

Terry Colquhoun has worked in the safety barrier industry for over 15 years and is widely respected as one of Australia’s foremost knowledgeable experts on road safety barrier products. Terry joined Safe Direction in 2012 and has extensive experience in sales management and product development.

Terry has been instrumental in introducing numerous road safety barrier products to the Australian market, including cable barriers, crash cushions, guardrail end terminals and guardrail barriers as well obtaining regulatory approval through the Austroads Safety Assessment Panel.

Terry is listed on numerous international patents for road and vehicle safety barrier systems and has participated in the Australian and New Zealand Standard for Road Safety.

Recently, Terry has championed the introduction of the RHINO-STOP® family of car park and warehouse barrier products which has seen the product become the industry’s preferred modular barrier system.

Terry is widely regarded for his technical support and commitment to customer service.

Peter Watson, Sales Manager

Peter Watson has extensive experience in the sale, distribution and installation of safety barrier systems. Peter is based in Brisbane and will champion Safe Direction’s growth into Queensland and northern NSW. Peter has more than 15 years experience having previously worked with several guardrail installation contractors and manufacturers. Peter’s product knowledge and commitment to customer service is aligned with Safe Direction’s vision of becoming the leader in safety barrier technology aimed at improving motorists safety.

James Foden, State Manager, Victoria

James Foden joins Safe Direction as the State Manager for Victoria. James has worked within the safety barrier industry for over 5 years and is experienced in providing technical assistance with a strong focus on customer service. James holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business and has completed a Diploma of Management.

The appointment of James is an important step forward in the expansion of Safe Direction into the Victorian market. He will champion the introduction of MASH compliant safety barrier systems into Victoria.

Alex Frame, Project Manager

Alex Frame is an experienced project manager responsible for Safe Direction’s supply and installation of car park and warehouse barrier projects. Alex’s prior tenure of 10 years in delivering projects for top tier building products into major construction works and previous experience in launching new car park barrier systems into the Australian market provides you with assurance for your project to be delivered on time to budget.

Leanne White, Financial Controller

Leanne has extensive administrative experience working within the manufacturing industry. Leanne is responsible for all administrative accounts requirements for Safe Direction and is the principal contact person for all debt management and collection.

Ryan Sillett, Logistics

Ryan ensures the smooth availability and delivery of goods to Safe Direction’s customers. Ryan is responsible for all aspects of logistics including material planning, inbound raw material movements, warehousing, customer order fulfillment and despatch. Ryan has worked within the industry for over 12 years and has an intimate knowledge of the products sold by Safe Direction. Ryan takes pride in his instrumental role in delivering Safe Direction’s fast accurate turnaround of customer orders.

Mitchell Seal, Sales

Mitchell Seal is responsible for responding to customer requests and coordinating the on-time packing and despatching of customer orders. Mitchell has worked in the road safety industry for more than 10 years and is focussed on delivering a high level of customer service.

Mitchell has been actively involved in the roll-out of Safe Direction proprietary products, including the RHINO-STOP® range of car park barrier solution and RAMSHIELD® guardrail.

Mitchell is skilled in preparing AutoCAD drawings allowing Safe Direction to respond quickly to customer requests for project drawings or proposing bespoke solutions.
