The MASH compliant range of DeltaBloc DB80 precast concrete barriers are widely recognised as the industry’s preferred temporary safety barrier system. The DeltaBloc F-shape systems are designed to safely contain and redirect errant vehicles travelling adjacent to workzones and construction sites. The DeltaBloc designs feature a unique tension bar and coupling system providing lateral support during a vehicle collision. DeltaBloc is available as three (3) options providing designers with a specific solution to meet site deflection and vehicle containment requirements

A precast concrete barrier is poured in the safety of a batching plant and transported to site as a preassembled element. A precast concrete barrier can be deployed rapidly, minimising disruption to traffic and reducing labour costs.
What element sizes are available with DeltaBloc Concrete Barriers?
DeltaBloc is available in standard element lengths of 6 m. At workzone sites where the barrier is required to follow a horizontal curve, shorter elements of 4 m and 2 m are available.
Do I need to connect each concrete barrier element?
Yes. Installations of unconnected concrete barriers cannot be considered a safety barrier system. Individual concrete barrier elements may slide or topple over during a vehicle impact creating significant risk to workers and other road users.
How do I position the workzone barrier at my worksite?
Sufficient clearance between the temporary concrete barrier and worksite must be provided to accommodate the expected dynamic deflection or working width of the safety barrier system. The deflection & working width of the workzone barrier is dependent upon the speed and mass of the impacting vehicle, the angle of impact and the performance characteristics of the workzone barrier.
What is an anti-gawk screen?
An anti-gawk screen is an attachment to a workzone barrier providing site security and privacy. An anti-gawk screen reduces the visibility of construction work occurring behind the workzone barrier which may be distracting to passing motorists.
What anti-gawk screens are available for attachment to DeltaBloc concrete workzone barriers?
Subject to the approval of the Project Manager, DeltaBloc concrete barriers may be installed with wire mesh screens or HolyPan blockout screens.
What is ECO-Friendly Concrete?
ECO-friendly concrete is a sustainable, low-carbon concrete option. The ECO-friendly mix offers a reduction of up to 41.2% in embodied carbon compared with the current Australian Life Cycle Inventory (AusLCI) database value for an ordinary Portland cement ready-mix concrete. ECO-friendly concrete is designed to perform equal to, or better than conventional concrete, therefore the impact performance of DeltaBloc concrete barrier is unchanged. ECO-friendly barrier elements may be used with non-ECO elements.
What is Zero Debris Concrete?
Zero Debris Concrete is achieved by adding steel fibres to the concrete mix to improve impact resistance and reduce the potential for detached elements during a vehicle collision. The use of Zero Debris Concrete improves the durability of the concrete element, minimising repairs and maintenance and extending the life of the barrier. The use of Zero Debris Concrete does not change vehicle redirection behaviour, geometry of the concrete barrier or connection details. Zero Debris Concrete barrier elements may be used with non- Zero Debris Concrete elements.
What is the design life of a concrete barrier?
The typical design life of a DeltaBloc concrete element exceeds 20 years. The life of the barrier will be dependent upon damage due to handling or vehicle impacts that may reduce the concrete cover to the reinforcement or expose the reinforcement to atmospheric contaminants.
What is the mass of a DeltaBloc concrete barrier?
The mass of a DeltaBloc concrete barrier is approximately 525 kg per metre.
