How does Rhino-Stop® Truck-Guard work?

RHINO-STOP®️ Truck-Guard w-beam guardrail safety barrier features specially engineered base plates that are designed to yield upon impact and absorb the kinetic energy of the impacting vehicle. This reduces the forces transferred through the anchor bolts and prevents damage to the concrete substrate.

What crash testing has been performed with Rhino-Stop® Truck-Guard?

RHINO-STOP®️ Truck-Guard w-beam guardrail safety barrier has been crash tested to comply with and exceed the 40kN impact load described for Medium Traffic Areas in AS/NZS 1170.1. The impact was performed with a light truck travelling at 20km/h impacting 1m above ground level and 90 degrees to the barrier.

What is a medium traffic area?

AS/NZS 1170.1, Table 3.1 defines a Medium Traffic Areas as vehicles exceeding 2500kg and not exceeding 10,000kg.

What about vehicles greater than 10,000kg?

Medium Traffic Areas is the heaviest vehicle classification described in AS/NZS 1170.1. RHINO-STOP®️ Truck-Guard is the market leader for heavy vehicle barrier containment.

How many anchor bolts does each Rhino-Stop® Truck-Guard post require?

Each RHINO-STOP®️ Truck-Guard post is anchored with just two (2) M20 anchors with a typical embedment depth of 105mm. Mechanical anchors may be used when the substrate is 200mm thick and 32Mpa. When the substrate is less that 200mm, chemical anchors may be used. Please contact Safe Direction for details of anchors.

What is the installed height of Rhino-Stop® Truck-Guard?

RHINO-STOP®️ Truck Guard features double height w-beam guardrails. The lower w-beam guardrail has an installed height of 600mm. The upper w-beam guardrail has an installed height of 1030mm.

What is the spacing between posts?

The maximum spacing between RHINO-STOP®️ Truck-Guard posts is 2000mm.
