RHINO-STOP® Truck-Guard Guardrail

Featuring twin w-beam guardrails, RHINO-STOP® Truck-Guard is designed to withstand impacts from high-centre-of-gravity vehicles. The 1m system height provides increased visibility for truck drivers and forklift operators making it the preferred barrier solution for loading docks, transport logistic warehouses and carparks frequented by heavy vehicles.

RHINO-STOP® Truck-Guard may be configured with handrail and mesh infill providing pedestrian fall protection. The fully modular system uses off-the-shelf components facilitating rapid supply and installation and can be customised on site to suit specific project dimensions.

RHINO-STOP® Truck-Guard FAQs

How does RhinoStop® Truck-Guard work?

All RhinoStop® barriers incorporate a unique patented yielding base plate that minimises the peak loads transferred to the post anchors. The yielding behaviour of the base plate absorbs vehicle impact energy and prevents damage to the concrete substrate.

What Standards were referenced to evaluate RhinoStop® Truck-Guard?

RhinoStop® Truck-Guard has been crash tested to validate compliance with the 40kN (Type G) vehicle impact load described in AS/NZS 1170.1, Clause 3.8.

What crash tests were performed with RhinoStop® Truck-Guard?

A 2500kg small truck travelling at 20km/h was impacted on twin w-beam guardrail panels supported by five (5) posts at 2m centres. The height of impact was 1m above ground level.

What are the benefits of Safe Direction’s crash test evaluation?

Safe Direction’s crash test evaluation is designed to represent the worst, or most critical, impact conditions when evaluating RhinoStop® Truck-Guard:

  • Vehicle impacts are performed at up to twice the speed nominated by AS/NZS 1170.1.
  • Short-length barrier systems, designed to distribute the impact load on fewer posts and produce the largest system deflection.
What is the minimum number of posts required for a RhinoStop® Truck-Guard installation?

A minimum five (5) posts are required per installation.

What is the spacing between posts?

The spacing between the posts shall not exceed 2m.

How is RhinoStop® Truck-Guard manufactured?

RhinoStop® Truck-Guard features an all-steel construction, with hot dip galvanised posts and w-beam guardrails.
