ABSORB-M Plastic Crash Cushion

The ABSORB-M is a non-redirective, gating, freestanding crash cushion designed to shield the blunt end of concrete barriers. Featuring water filled elements and tension straps to absorb vehicle impact energy, the ABSORB-M does not require ground anchors making it the preferred crash cushion solution for workzones where the unit can be rapidly deployed, relocated and retrieved.

For Australian conditions the MASH TL2 unit is restricted to speed zones of up to 60km/h whilst the MASH TL3 unit is restricted to speed zones of up to 80km/h.

Crash test evaluation:

  • 1100kg Passenger Car travelling at 100km/h & 0 degrees, Nose (MASH 3-40).
  • 2270kg Pick-up Truck travelling at 100km/h & 0 degrees, Nose (MASH 3-41).
  • 1100kg Passenger Car travelling at 100km/h & 5 degrees, Nose (MASH 3-42).
  • 2270kg Pick-up Truck travelling at 100km/h & 5 degrees, Nose (MASH 3-43).
  • 2270kg Pick-up Truck travelling at 100km/h & 20 degrees, Side-on (MASH 3-44).
